Our Team

Meet the team

Our team of locally trained doctors have many years of combined experience in General Practice. They each bring their own unique skills and knowledge to The Claremont Clinic.

Lucy Rigden General Practitioner

Dr Lucy Rigden graduated from the University of Western Australia in 1999 and after her time in Perth hospitals she has worked as a GP in both the Wheatbelt and in Perth. She has always been passionate about all aspects of women’s health, in particular giving patients the time and space to speak openly and honestly about their medical concerns. Lucy almost fell off her chair when she realised at 43 that she was in perimenopause and at that moment she set to work to learn all that she could about this stage of a woman’s life.

Lucy is an experienced and compassionate GP with both a Certificate in Sexual and Reproductive Medicine and a Diploma of Child Health. She is a member of the Australasian Menopause Society and the International Menopause Society, as well as a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of GPs. She has always been actively involved in teaching and mentoring medical students and has also been an examiner for the RACGP exams.

Lucy has worked at GPs on Bayview since the year it opened back in 2016 and was more than a little excited when one day the idea was hatched to open a dedicated Menopause and Women’s Health clinic within the practice. She will be the first to tell you that the strength of The Claremont Clinic lies in the deep respect and friendship that the doctors share, and their joint dedication to providing caring, compassionate and evidence-based menopause and women’s health medicine.

When she is not seeing patients in Claremont Lucy can be found in her Medical Aesthetics clinic in Dalkeith. In her time off work, she loves to spend time with her family eating and travelling, and reading, running, and going to Pilates. She seems to spend a lot of time making sure she is eating enough protein and is hoping to add “lifting heavy” to her list of achievements soon!
